tftlogoThought Field Therapy
(TFT) is like a no-needle acupuncture or nopressure acupressure therapy for the treatment of stress, anger, trauma, phobias, panic, anxiety, excessive guilt, depression, addictive urges, obsession and grief. TFT has also been useful in managing chronic pain. TFT combines the health practices of the East and West.

roger01TFT is a self-treatment that was developed by a clinical psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan. TFT utilizes the acupoints and bilateral stimulation which appears to facilitate the information processing needed for reducingthe particular problem or disturbance.

People gently tap themselves at certain points and in a prescribed sequence with two fingers. While tapping, they focus on the thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations that they want to get rid of, like those that come along with depression or anxiety. The name of this treatment comes from the focusing on the thought field you want to change, while at the same time, tapping on the appropriate treatment points.

tft torsoTFT uses key acupoints in specific sequences called algorithms that are specific to the thought field, involving different treatment points incertain orders. These treatment sequences are manualized with step by step instructions and flow charts. SUD (Subjective Units of Distress) are used as process feedback from the person being treated to determine the next step inthe protocol. Advanced levels of TFT work with individualized treatment sequences for each thought field for a person.
