71,340 isle residents could qualify for health insurance tax credit

4-18-HEALTH-INSURANCE-TAX-CREDITSMore than 71,000 low- and middle-income Hawaii residents could be eligible for tax credits to help pay for health insurance when the first major piece of the federal Affordable Care Act takes effect in January, a study released Wednesday shows.

The report by Families USA, a national consumer health advocacy group based in Washington, D.C., said most people eligible for tax credits will be in working families, with incomes between two and four times the federal poverty level, or between $54,180 and $108,360 for a family of four based on 2013 poverty guidelines.

We know she is a bit "young" being only a year old, but she has been undergoing training to first become a Canine Good Citizen and then to become a certified Therapy Dog. 131 million working days lost to sickness in 2011 - but it’s falling

Around 131 million working days were lost to sickness absence in 2011, a new report from the Office for National Statistics shows. This was a fall of 26 per cent since 1993 (when 178 million days were lost) despite an increase in total employment from around 25 million people to about 29 million people. The amount of time lost per worker was four and a half days in 2011 down from just over seven days in 1993.
