Percy Wong, M.Ed., CRC

Percy Wong has been working in the vocational rehabilitation field since 1995.  He earned a Master’s Degree in Education with a specialty in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.  He is a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor and is registered in the State of Hawaii to provide rehabilitation services to injured workers.  In addition to his experience in the field of workers’ compensation, Percy spent one year working with the State of Hawaii Division of Vocational Rehabilitation assisting clients with disabilities to return to work.  In the nearly 15 years of service to injured workers, he has developed and administered a highly effective job seeking skills program that resulted in timely returns to the workplace for many clients.

Percy himself has experienced the loss of a job and is familiar with the issues one faces in seeking new employment.  His primary focus is on educating his clients on, and guiding them through, Hawaii’s complicated and often stressful return-to-work process, and putting them in control of their rehabilitation. His previous work in the airline industry and with a nonprofit drug rehabilitation program manifests itself in the high level of client-focused care he provides.

Presently at VMC, Percy is working in collaboration with the Veteran’s Administration to provide vocational rehabilitation and independent living assessment services to veterans with disabilities.
