Ms. C was referred for VR services by her attorney in April, 2008. She was injured while working as an Admissions Coordinator for a University and was diagnosed with Bilateral arm pains, wrist tendonitis and ligament strain. She had been active in trying to apply for various positions while at level 3 but either the positions were not considered suitable or were not gainful. Through the vocational exploration process, she was able to identify Human Resources Assistant as a possible job goal.
Her approved VR plan included a completion of a certificate in Human Resources Management at a local university which she successfully did. She actively submitted her applications and went on several interviews. Her VR case was closed in January, 2011 without her obtaining employment but at the time she was very close to getting a job. She was able to obtain employment shortly after her VR case closed. She is currently working in the student employment at a different University than her previous employer. The person that interviewed the client indicated that because of her HR certificate, they felt she was more qualified than other candidates for the position. She had indicated that having been injured was very stressful for her as she had never had a work injury before. The VR process assisted her and she was grateful for the assistance that was provided to her to return to work.
